Ilia a place with rich history which houses ancient Olympia, the birthplace of Olympism, guarantees a lot of emotions. In the most important sights of the prefecture Ilia are included the archaeological space of Ancient Olympia, Ancient Ilida, the Epicurean temple of Apollo, the medieval castle Chlemoytsi, the Byzantine Monastery of Blacherna, Virgin Mary Catholic in Gastoyni and the lake of Kaiafa.

Also a visit to the archaeological museum of Olympia and the museum of Olympic Games is suggested.

For sea lovers the 120 km coast line of beaches with thick sand and pines that reach as far as the seas of (Kyllini, Kaiafas, Kourouta), is a real enjoyment.

For mountain lovers a visit to the mountainous region of Ilia is suggested. Places that are a must see include traditional Andritsaina and the forest of Foloi.

For outdoor sports lovers there is the capability of engaging in a wide range of outdoor sports such as walks, mountain hiking, horse back riding, mountain cycling, crossing gorges (canyons), canoe, rafting, and others.
